Caught with evidence in hand at Riemvasmaak spaza shop
What began at a spaza shop led police to a larger find at a Caledon residence where officers seized 1,169 packets of dagga along with an undisclosed amount of cash.

CALEDON, WESTERN-CAPE - A 29-year-old man was literally caught red-handed when police found him holding packets of dagga during an intelligence-driven operation.
On Friday members of Caledon SAPS acted on a tip-off about dagga being sold at a spaza shop in Riemvasmaak. Acting on the information, officers proceeded to the premises, where they found the suspect with small plastic packets containing dagga in his hands.
Further investigation led police to the suspect’s residence, where officers seized an additional plastic bag containing 1,169 small packets of dagga, with a total weight of 5.6 kilograms. An undisclosed amount of cash was also discovered.
The suspect was arrested for dealing in dagga and is expected to appear in the Caledon Magistrates’ Court tomorrow, January 5.
