Earlier today Randal Louw has been sentenced to 15 years in prison following a gang-related shooting in October 2024. His co-accused are expected back in court for sentencing next month.
WESTERN CAPE – The Bellville Regional Court has sentenced Randal Louw to 15 years’ direct imprisonment for the murders of Jerodin Eimon and Donald Jonkers, following a gang-related shooting in October 2024.
The incident took place on October 10, 2024, at around 19:00, when Louw and two co-accused were involved in a gang-related shooting. A 15-year-old male, believed to have been gang-affiliated, was killed, along with a 19-year-old woman who was an innocent bystander.
All three suspects were arrested, and the case was assigned to WO Heinrich Marais of the Durbanville Detectives. Evidence gathered during the investigation contributed to the successful prosecution of the accused.
Today, January 20, Louw was sentenced to 15 years’ imprisonment for murder. He also received a sentence of 10 years for possession of an unlicensed firearm and 12 months for possession of ammunition. The court ruled that all sentences will run concurrently.
Louw’s co-accused are expected to appear in court for sentencing proceedings in February.
