WITBANK - Two women lost their lives early this evening (around 17:30) on the R555 Road between Middelburg and Emalahleni in a head-on collision between a Krafter midibus and a sedan.

The victims, the driver and passenger of the sedan, died on the scene.

Seven passengers in the midibus were seriously injured, while another 14 sustained minor injuries. They were all rushed to various hospitals around Emalahleni.

The circumstances around the incident are unclear at this stage, but police have launched an investigation into the accident.

This accident brings the death toll on the province’s roads to six since the start of the Easter Weekend yesterday.
