On September 5, officers from the Traffic Intervention Unit (TIU) arrested two drivers on the R40 road near the Hilltop area for reckless driving.

The driver of a Toyota sedan was arrested at 08:04 after he was caught overtaking dangerously. Another motorist, in a BMW, was arrested at 17:00 when doing a speed of 179 km/h in this 120km/h zone. Summonses for speeding was also issued to 33 drivers on the R40.

MEC Pat Ngomane complimented the officers for their hard work to keep the roads safe. He warned reckless drivers to give their cooperation in order to better road safety.
