Three people were confirmed dead on the scene of an accident which occured on the Middelburg / Stoffberg Road at approximately 12:30. The head on collision occured between a taxi and a bakkie with sixteen and three occupants respectively.

Two of the deceased were from the taxi and one from the bakkie. Serious injuries were sustained by the other two occupants of the bakkie.

The taxi caught fire after it was vacated. All the injured were transported to hospital.
