SAMORA MACHEL, Western Cape: A 35-year-old man and a 40-year-old woman have been arrested for the murder of a five-year-old girl in Sweet Home, Samora Machel, yesterday.

According to SAPS media liaison Sgt Wesley Twigg, the body of the child was found with a stab wound to her neck in a dustbin in Duinefontein Road. Provincial Serious Violent Crime detectives investigating the murder were led to a relative of the victim.

The man and woman were subsequently arrested for murder. They are expected to appear in the Athlone Magistrate's Court tomorrow on the murder charge. The investigation is ongoing.
